WIDE EDWARDIAN ROSE GOLD GF REPOUSSE EXPANSION BRACELET Click to open supersize image I am so pleased to offer this Edwardian 14ct Rose Gold Fill Expansion Bracelet with a LARGE Oval centerpiece with repousse scrolls flanking it.. a beautiful look when worn.. ! ! It has an oval cartouche flanked by beautiful repousse scrollwork , will fit average to larger wrist, This is a ANTIQUE ROSE GOLD HUE that BABY PINK ROSE GOLD OF OLD and the oval shaped medallion has a bit more of a rosey blush . The center of the medallion is a solid gold plaque as was often the case with these signetsThis is and Early Expansion bangle , much wider and heavier than most.. ..it has alternating repousse links THIS WILL FIT A MULTITUDE OF WRISTS FROM 5" - 8 1/2" Please note in the photos therelooks like there are dark areas on the outside links of the bracelet but this is reflection only from the very shiny surface. I HISTORY It is Circa 1906 as these all had a link marked PATENTED and then the patent date was 1906 Adjustable bracelets were very popular with some American manufacturers in the late 19th and early 20th Century. They were of "thick gold fill"and were considered to be a great quality gold fill also . These flexible expanding links were the forerunners of our modern day watch bands. . These old antique 14ct gold filled expansion bangles are becoming very hard to come by DESCRIPTION & STYLING.. A Very old and beautiful heirloom indeed..The front Medallion is a LARGE oval shape with repousse bordere and measures 2.2cm or 7/8" in length by 1.5cm or just under 5/8" in width ... ! The band measures 1.2cm or just under 1/2" in width..and will fit a multitude of wrist sizes ranging average to large wrist sizes due to its expansion.. I have a 6 1/2"wrist and it fits me with plenty of room to spare.. It has been worn by someone with a larger wrist..as the links have become a bit stretched over time ..so that it doesnt spring back perfectly.. but looks lovely on.. The only other thing is that one of the link caps on the inside that had the patent date is missing but not visible when bein worn.. hence the low start price.. Dont miss this one...its truly one of a kind...and sure to please !... The large centre cartouche is blank ready for engraving Thie weighs just under 24 grams which further adds to its appeal! .. THis is a MUST for the collector,as these are becoming so hard to find these days.
